Compliance has undergone a significant evolution in the past decade. Compliance professionals are now using behavioural metrics on how they can add value to their organisation. But what is culture? As with other Governance Risk and Compliance disciplines, culture has become a key focus. It’s also beginning to show its value to organisations as a defence against regulatory breaches. In the 2006 judgement of Chemeq, the judge stated that greater penalties will be imposed in relation to compliance breaches of the Corporations Act on companies that neglect compliance and don’t develop a ‘culture of compliance’ This means there is an expectation on the part of courts that companies embrace a 'corporate culture' of compliance for all Commonwealth statutory obligations.
This course will "make clear" the muddy waters of ensuring you meet your obligations in a practical way and gain real benefits while dealing with corporate issues. You will walk away knowing what’s involved, as well as having some helpful resources and templates to get you started. |
